Sometimes people like to retreat from the stresses of the day and be enjoy an echo chamber.
The concept of making fun of safe spaces and snowflakes has really been overblown. The initial point of ridicule was to express that it was absurd for a college campus to censor the opinions of people since the exchange of ideas is something you'd expect to see there.
I've only tried to visit Reddit a handful of times, but I'm not fond of the posting format so I never got into anything on it.
Oh I agree, nothing wrong with an echo chamber for peace and entertainment.
But /r/The_Donald is an abomination. A community of the worst, dumbest people in the world. And I'm attacking specifically that community, not Trump supporters in general.
And the "safe space" handle still applies, as they are banning users they disagree with.
