Which means I actually opened this acknowledging Hamas was the one attacking.

I mean, it's a seperate discussion how Hamas came to power (hint: Israel supported them so they had a radical opposition),but we can just keep it to October and after given the thread title.

We can keep it to October because regardless of how anyone "comes to power" what they do with that power is their responsibility.

Yeah, which is why I lay heavier criticism of Israel.

Hamas is really bad, but at their absolute worst they kill 1000 people.

Israel in an average operation kills that many children, and at their worst kills 40x as many, mostly children, and opens the operation that kills that many by dropping white phosphorus on civilians and intentionally destroying as much infrastructure as they think they can get away with.

If there ever comes a day when Hamas is capable of doing that much damage, I'll levy much greater criticism on them.

That's a pretty terrible logic. The conflict is asymmetrical. You can't give Hamas a pass because Israel is a much stronger entity.

If there is something we learned from 7/10 is that Hamas is Palestine and Palestine is Hamas.
This operation took years of planning, building, finance. It’s not something that an organisation of 50K people can accomplish without the help of the public.

And yes, 50K cannot achieve that by themselves. The entire Gaza Strip is built for the fight and you are claiming what ? The public didn’t know ?
Look, I believe this war was and is being manage horribly. Israel isn’t ready for it and should stop ASAP before it’ll get even worse.
What I do saying is that you shouldn’t be naive about the Palestinians. They are not the “tool by the Arab nations, poor refugees” that they portray themselves to be.
Their entire Palestinians nationality is formed around the idea that Israel is just a bump in the road and shouldn’t exist.
