If that's true then most people are idiots. Art is a fundamental aspect of human life and are fundamentally linked to the sciences, philosophy, and knowledge in general. Golden ages in science nearly always accompany golden ages in art; there's a reason for that. Art is important. The academic elitism from STEM majors towards humanities majors is naive (I say as someone who works in a STEM field).
