Maybe I phrased my point badly. My point is that Romney's opposition to Trump isnt based on faith or virtue, it's based on huge disagreements with regard to the issues and style.
His histrionic "I swore an oath to god, so his 'Here I stand, I can do no other'" schtick IMHO is just for show.
I wouldnt call it impressive or even courageous. At this point, Romney's political career has reached the end of the road, he's never gonna hold a higher office than his current one, so he basically had nothing to lose by following his conscience/faith/thirst for revenge.
You're quite cynical. It would have been WAY easier for Romney to bite his tongue and vote no just like Murkowski, Collins, etc.
