people whining about the arts when most people condemn peopel for studying them

legitimate criticisms are about the cost/value of degrees that are hard to land jobs but easy to land in debt

the running joke is mostly done by the people that wish to cut the arts in general though

creativity and expression of it plays one of the most important roles in our society and has for as long as we have existed and should always have forms of support to provide resources to those that wish to express it

not only does it lead to wonderful creations but gives purpose and a positive outlet to those struggling to find meaning

I'm from an economy where they did cut 200 mil in art, and it directly resulted in masses of art students going into catering jobs.
Art is a part of an economy, creating inspiration and resulting into innovation and tourism.

/e What I mean is that supporting art has indirect benefits that don't always reflect their market value for their contribution at the time.
Van Gogh was Dutch, as an extreme example.
