Belgium didn't have a government for over 600 days. It didn't stop being a federal state in the meantime.
Rabin was part of the Oslo Accords iirc. Granted Netanyahu is no Rabin, but still. It's not inconceivable that agreements could be reached.
Oslo accords ended without a concession on borders from the exact reason we are not able to achieve peace now - the Palestinians refusal to accept the Jewish state. Arafat couldn’t abandon the claim for “the right to return”.
Show me a Palestinian gov that can say the following and there will
Be a peace tomorrow “we acknowledge Israel’s existence, we would like to have our country in X borders and so we understand it means the end of our refugee status and dropping our claim for the right to return.”
You won’t find more than 5 Palestinians who are able to say that publicly. All those discussion about returning to 67 borders are a mislead of the west and the west is eating it.
The conception says the following - grant them employment, financial stability and they won’t choose terror over their wellbeing. This conception is fundamentally wrong.
