You have never been to Australia I see. It is multicultural through and through.

Dude you have more guns than people in your country. Absolutely no surprises there if there are regular mass shootings.

Deflecting on other random stats doesnt wash this fact away.

No matter what you might see with your own eyes the studies are that 90% of your country is white. Secondly a mass shooting is defined as a shooting that takes place that has 2 or more victims. With that most mass shootings come from things like gang violence. It was not a deflection I was just pointing out that an armed society is a safer society. For a country without guns you guys sure do have an issue defending yourselves from rape and home invasions.

Really? We have less blacks for sure but it doesnt mean they are all the same "whites" - the data is not 100% comparable but it gives an idea.

Australia:
English 25.9%, Australian 25.4%, Irish 7.5%, Scottish 6.4%, Italian 3.3%, German 3.2%, Chinese 3.1%, Indian 1.4%, Greek 1.4%, Dutch 1.2%, other 15.8% (includes Australian Aboriginal .5%), unspecified 5.4% (2011 est.)

US:
White 72.4%, Black 12.6%, Asian 4.8%, Amerindian and Alaska Native 0.9%, Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander 0.2%, other 6.2%, two or more races 2.9% (2010 est.)

Source: https://www.indexmundi.com/ (to be fair it was my first hit on Google)

Are we now going to mix all the issues a country may or may not have just in order to deflect that more guns logically leads to more gun violence?

And in terms of rape statistics:
Both countries are very much the same: https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/rape-statistics-by-country
27.31 vs 28.6 (this indeed makes US approx 0.001% safer for an individual to get raped) But then again you may get shot :P

No see my point is that less guns doesn't mean anyone is more safe just like more guns doesn't mean anyone is in more danger. Evil is going to happen no matter the tool.

I agree with you, at least partially. We can not remove evil completely but let's be honest, don't you think guns are indeed making it easier to kill more than otherwise possible? And if guns are easily accessible to people with mental problems, there will be more killings.

This literally means that less guns in a community will make it safer.

As an example, imagine the school mass shooter would not be able to buy a rifle! Can he still kill 20ish people with a knife/hammer or whatever? I doubt it. Also then maybe the police would not have chickened out.

We simply can't ignore that US has more guns than people and has the highest shootings in developed world.

Yeah but guns also save lives. A mass shooting at mall yesterday (I don't have much info to go in here) was stopped by a conceal carry unfortunately 3 victims but could have been way worse.

Chief of police is quoted in that article saying the civilian that stopped the shooter was legally carrying.

"The real hero of the day is the citizen that was lawfully carrying a firearm in that food court and was able to stop the shooter almost as soon as he began," Ison said at a briefing late Sunday.

So I'm going to take his word on it.
