Accepting Jesus Christ as your personal savior is the most humbling experience you can have. You accept that God has complete dominion over you, that your life should be devoted to Him, and you can no longer live on your own terms. It's pride(or arrogance) which gets in the way of completely accepting God in your heart.

There is a common, accepted understanding on most doctrine.

You refuse to believe that because you won't study the Bible. You're basically talking out of your ass for no reason.

Rationality, not arrogance, is what gets in the way of folks believeing in or following a religion.
yes, there is a common understanding. I've read enough, and read more as an adult than I ever have in my youth. You don't like the answers. The difference between our perception is I don't believe what I'm reading as anything more than a compilation of stories during a time when life was much different.

...it's because you are dead inside...and I mean that in a spiritual way - that third part of your triune nature , the spirit , the part of us that communes with God , is dead .

Tell me, what do you think it's going to be like when you die? Do you think it'll be any different than how it was before you were born? Do you believe there's an assembly line sort of facility in some sort of heavenly cosmic dimension where we all wait around for our turn to receive a green card to exist on Earth?

...I give absolutely no credence or thought as to whether we existed before we were born .

Don't be stupid. Nobody communes with God.

Nope, the majority of non-believers are simply arrogant. They can't get over their selfish pride.

The essence of life doesn't change all that much. People work, people eat, people love, people create families, people think, people die.
