I said that d2jsp has an extreme right bias, I didn't mention anything about this thread. Given you have only 400 posts I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but this site has an extreme... extreme right bias.

I used the coat hanger as a hyperbole. Women will get abortions no matter what. Do you understand this? Would you rather have them abort their Fetus on their own or do you want them to have the best medical advice they can get?

If that is true I am very grateful all these right wing crazies are sitting back and allowing me to have this discussion with the other users. Generally tribalism kicks in and the shit show ensues, but in this case I feel we are having a decent discussion.





You keep saying they won’t be able to get medical care, you act like this bill (that again, failed to become law so it doesn’t even effect what is going on today) is going to make the US such a better place.

We are talking about something that is not even a law, and you continue to circle back to “what if” situations.

The only real world situation, as I brought up in my last post which got completely ignored, was basically a farce. The extreme situation (9 year old rape victim) could have gone through the process with her mother to have her abortion at home, legally. They instead decided to go out of state to do it and have a doctor leak the misleading story to the press to make it seem like they had no choice but to go to Indiana. Mind you, this further proves how even a preteen girl can find a way out of state to have an abortion. You cannot even link this to any sort of privilege (ugh) because she was clearly a part of a lower class immigrant family.

I have defended this bill in its entirety, and through the interpretation you're hoping someone has.

The government has no place in forcing someone, by threat of punishment or through outright imprisonment, to be pregnant. As such, people should have access to safe, legal, and rare abortions at any time of gestation. The opposing position leads people to being held against their will until they give birth, that is, if people really want to be open and honest about what treating abortion as equivalent to murder would functionally look like.
