I don't think so. I think the West's financial attack on Putin brings him to the bargaining table. While China maybe felt emboldened a few days ago, I think they justifiably harbor second thoughts now, especially with the specter that with Taiwan, there is a very real threat of direct US intervention.
I remember in the 90s, China was lobbing missiles over Taiwan, and president Billy Jeff sent the on-duty carrier strike group in the Persian Gulf to Taiwan immediately. It should not come as a surprise to any observer that US military intervention is not off the table like it was with Ukraine. The Biden administration has repeatedly signaled its willingness to fight over the island.
Really? Why though? Why does US care so much about Taiwan?
