There's something different at play here though. It's not just that fake libertarians agree with Republican policies... they are completely committed to all the non-policy talking points of the Trump cult, even when it contradicts what you would expect them to believe. Trump using the state to punish his political enemies was applauded by the libertarians.

They somehow think of Trump as their vessel to combat the state, while he's the one using the state to punish people they don't like.

That's how libertarians have always been. The NAP for 99.99% of libertarians actually just stands for "Things I don't like are aggression". It's why if you (and I have) ask 20 libertarians if a scenario is aggression you will come back with 20 different answers. It's more a religion than a coherent political philosphy.
