Yet you will be voting for yet another Pres candidate this year who was against gay marriage until it was politically expedient not to be. all of them (D)s. not a surprise from a bigot like yourself

Why on earth would it ever matter if someone was doing it because its politically expedient?
If they get the task done, who gives the faintest fraction of a fuck if they actually care about the issue as an individual?
Every single person in congress could hate gays, but if they're all saying they don't and now we have legal gay marriage, mission accomplished.

because their political actions and policies matched their emotions (ie: they hate gay people) until the focus group data suggested to them to knock it off and stop having big government interfere in personal partnerships between adults.

Okay, but we have gay marriage now so again, who gives a fuck

Voting when your ideals are outside the mainstream is always harm reduction.

people who had to suffer government intrusion by politicians like biden, clinton etc. on their personal lives for decades??? who cares that biden wrote that crime bill which led to the permanent separation of thousands of minority American families every year since 1994 (until last year when President Trump signed the First Step Act to undo some of that damage), biden said he won’t do it again right?

He, along with a shit ton of other people voted for that bill. I think even Bernie Sanders did for something else that was included in it. Though I could me misremembering.

He said he regrets it, being able to look back on it, its wrong, and if he knew then what he knows now he would never vote for it. Times were different. Peoples minds do change overtime.
Now we put that against my previous statement.
He said he supports gay marriage, and jumped the gun on Obama revealing the same position. Even if he doesn't believe this in his heart, if this exists it doesn't get in the way of progress. Now we have it.
As long as hes doing what he says what he is going to do, his personal feelings on the matter are irrelevant.

The literal only thing we have of these people is their word. We cannot control them.
We can only thrust these bags of meat up to Washington to slap each other around and jerk each other off.
If we're lucky they do a fraction of what they said and not all that much extra that they never said.

Overall my opinion on the government in general went like this

This system is decent, but the people running it are bad and most people need to just get off their butts -->

The system has some faults but is overall good, and a lot of corrupt people exploit the weaknesses, but average people can easily succeed with effort -->

The system sucks because it has been rigged for the benefit of the corrupt, and there's actually a lot of other systems that would be obviously better, and how we measure success in the system is garbage

Yes. Agreed.

Took me a while, but at some point I realized the left is far worse than the right.

I went from listening to Earth Crisis and Strife and sending $20 bills to Earth First! when I was in high school in the 90s to listening to Billy Bragg and Wilco and writing 50 page CrimethInc inspired anarcho-syndicalist manifestos while train hopping and dumpster diving my way through college, to working my way up the ladder of several nonprofit organizations post-college (including Environment California/CALPIRG where I ran the campaign to get Arnie to pass the California Solar Initiative and Million Solar Roofs) which lead to an eventual partnership at one of the largest left-leaning political field organizations in the country and passing recreational marijuana legalization laws in 7 states, ENDA in Oregon, lots of pro-union legislation, fracking setback limits in several states, and a firm promise from Republican Senate Leader Jeff Atwater to uphold the ban on offshoring drilling in Florida back in 2010. Oh and for the past several years I helped pass several early release laws in California including Prop 57.

Since then, I've probably gone WAY more left wing than I ever was back in those days. Think of me as Noam Chomsky with guns.
