Big disagree. The average American voter might not care a lot about the minutiae of policy, but he does care about the general direction or vision a candidate offers. In 2016, Trump was offering a clear vision and some signature policy proposals that gave a clear idea about the direction he wanted to stand for. Hillary, on the other hand, was all bleh. Her platform, to the extent she even had one, sucked ass. Consequently, it was Trump, not Hillary, who spent more time talking about policy during the 2016 campaign:

As the chart shows, Hillary was the least policy-focused candidate in decades. She made a huge bet on the idea that she would be guaranteed victory if only she could turn the election into a referendum on Trump. In the end, the election instead turned out to be a referendum on her, and she lost it.

By the way: Kamala Harris, the woman hand-picked by the party leadership to be the future face and leader of the party, has explicitly endorsed the GND, open border policies and gun buybacks. I would need to look up her stance on the other items from my list.
