Problem i have with black lives matter is it doesn't target the real issue, black people need to convince each other that their lives matter, how can you convince an entire society to see your lives as valuable when the vast majority of murders in your community come from your community.
Black people kill black people every day, if a white cop does it we see riots, if a gang banger does it we change the channel.
There needs to be a movement to end gang culture and encourage education and self improvement, this needs to come with sweeping social changes, ending the war on drugs, better access to more nutritional food in inner city areas, better education options, just ideas but its something.
Burning down stores is not going to convince anyone of anything, the people with racist mindsets are the only ones who didn't agree with you in the first place and rioting in the streets just makes them feel validation.
You know what might have an effect on these racists? Being treated by a black doctor or seeing african americans succeeding when they turn on their tv, not a headline that says "innocent 12 year old bystander dies in shoot out between 8 trey and rolling 40's."
They're also basically an extremist group that promotes violence towards police (and can be violent towards white people/non-conformists), shuts down discussion through racism threats, associated with doxxing efforts, strong arm politicians (which is scary) and are linked with violent protests/riots.
They avoid responsibility due to overwhelming media support + fame and rely on things like "those people aren't with BLM". Meanwhile I see people chanting "BLM" and "George Floyd" near burning buildings or just before chanting inciting words at the police. Or before committing other crimes.
This group isn't good. They're defying law and order - blocking highways, avoiding curfews, and can be violent.
There are good people that get caught up in the group which is unfortunate, they should create their own group that esp handle the issues you mentioned in all honesty and can still look towards criminal justice reform.
People support the group out of fear in my opinion. White people think they have to. Which I think is due to the name of the organization. They think if they don't support the group, they will be labeled as a racist.
I question where all of these donations are going to as well. Combating racism through educating individuals in racism.. what does that mean? Are they paying a speaker 100k to promote their group?
