most people are stupid and overextend themselves. If I made $50,000/yr. I could save over $15,000 a year and live decent.

Lol.. I receive 60% of my wages after taxes, benefits, union. Living on 15k a year as you say is not possible. You would be lucky to have 15 extra afters basic bills.

You understand 75k DC is < 40K Idaho, yeah?

But luckily I’m not a fuck and do have other investments

I do understand and you are totally not seeing my point.

If your an adult and not getting a paycheck for a few months is going to leave you unable to pay your bills.... Rethink about what your doing and your monthly expanses. Idc care where you live you should relocate

I understand if your under 25 or work minimum wage job. But if your making 75k a year and cant budget to make a healthy savings you're an idiot.

i'm not talking about New York.

My rent is 675/month.
My utilities are $50/month
My entertainment (phone, internet, music, tv) 120/mo
Food $400-500/month (including eating out a lot)
Car insurance $50/month

675
500
120
50
+ 50 =
----------
$1395/month in total living costs

If you make $50,000/year and get paid bi-weekly. You take home $1527 per paycheck after state and federal taxes.

Edit: You can literally take the second paycheck and deposit it into your account. That's over 18,000/year in savings.

We know you can do it where you are right now. The point of the conversation is that there are places where 50k is basically poverty level and the 1200 doesnt go as far in those places

People don't deserve to get more money because their cost of living is higher. Entitled much? I personally think everyone should get $0 and the government should stop preventing people from working.

A pandemic doesn't know boundaries. Staying home has little effect on the spread because people are too stupid to stay home anyway. For instance, If we buy groceries online and go pick them up, our chances of getting the virus are significantly higher than if we go to the store ourselves and get our groceries. Which is because the guy loading our cars with groceries is exposed to everyone in the store all day long. When we go to the store, we are only exposed for like 30min-1hour.

And when you go to the store and are exposed to 10-20 workers.with just as much exposure as that grocery delivery guy? Plus dozens of other people?

I dont think you're putting enough thought into your opinions because everything you just saod isn't just wrong, it's wrong in a way that takes two seconds of thought to see.

No union but i remember getting a substancial pay increase once and ended up with like <50 a week more because it put me in a higher tax bracket lol.

The most traumatizing thing is when you go to do your taxes and you owe more money...that was 2017 for me. Haven't had it since....Trump has literally put more money in my pocket.
