I think the fact that Trump adds hyperbolic flourishes to everything he says and freely delves into over-the-top rhetoric has broken their programming like a kid first watching WWE and having no idea what Kayfabe is. Trump isn't on camera to state dry facts read from some page, he's up there to make a point. As far as he's concerned, it doesn't matter how Baghdadi's last moments were spent. Trump is purposefully disrespecting him by specifically using 'dog' as an insult and diminishing his courage, because those are two supreme insults in the eyes of his followers. He repeated those words enough for everyone to be sure he had chosen them carefully. At this point if anyone listened to what Trump said and took it all literally at face value, they'd either have spent the past 3 years on cave on mars, or living out of a van plastered with Trump stickers while making fake pipe bombs.
