If you lend money to someone poor and ask him to fund back with 45% interests, while in the same time lending money to richer country for like 300x less cost, what do you think would happens ?

Risk involves an interest rate, but I agree that in this case the interest rate creates an increased risk of an economy not being able to crawl back due to its burden. Still I'd say the northern countries could be more lenient with lowering some debt or interest rate artificially, during a crisis that hits one of our members in particular.

Why isn't Luxembourg paying their share?

One of the richest members we have is receiving EU funding.. That's ridiculous.

As far as I know there are laws that forbid lending money to people whose creditworthiness isn't sufficient. Lending a jobless person $50,000 is malicious, and illegal in many places.

Yet another reason why I find it difficult to consider the USA a civilized country.
