Stephen Fry is a beautiful man. He lives near me too. Seen him out walking his dogs on the beach and he sometimes eats at one of the restaurants me and my friends go to once in a while.

I would marry this dude.

Have you ever met him? He's one of my favorite people.

Yea. Couplea times. He's an awesome dude :)

No less nice in person. Happy to be recognised even with how famous he is. Loves his dogs.

This is a problem with your perception of inaccuracy, not some mythical proof of lies.

Direct contradictions are not 'my perception'. They are logical inconsistencies in accounts.

The OP is a very small portion of how many there actually are as well.

The thing is - we know some of the bible is made up bullshit. We know it. At least the gospel of Peter and a couple of others I can't recollect at this moment are proven forgeries. According to some scholars (Ehrman among them - I seem to recall you bringing him up once) almost half the gospels are forgeries.

I don't need to prove there are lies in the bible. It's already known. The question is - how can you trust any of it if we know some of it to be untrue?

Do you interpret me asking legitimate and hard questions for you to answer as being angry? If so, that explains a lot.

Edit: Also, please read:

Thank you.

Your questions aren't hard, they're fallacious.

Your built in assumption is that the answer must be one of the choices you provided. That's unwarranted.

Background:

Resurrection Chronological Table: http://wp.patheos.com.s3.amazonaws.com/blogs/crossexamined/files/2013/03/Resurrection_-Chronology.pdf

Matthew 28: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2028

Mark 16: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark%2016

Luke 24: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%2024

John 20: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%2020

Questions:

I have some questions for the Christians that frequent this board.

1) How many women came to the tomb? One (John)? Two (Matthew)? Three (Mark)? More (Luke)?

2) What were the last words of Jesus? Three gospels have three different accounts of his last words.

3) Was the tomb already open when they got there (Matthew indicates the tomb was open, the other three claim it was closed)?

***Please do not respond in defense of the Bible or Christianity in this thread without directly answering questions 1 through 3 first. Thank you.***

Those are my three questions concerning the resurrection story, which is arguably the Bible's most important story because one of the central themes of Christianity is Jesus' crucifixion (died for sins) and subsequent resurrection.

Potential follow up questions only for those who answer questions 1 through 3 in numbered format: Do you acknowledge these accounts in the gospel as contradictions? If not, how? Do you believe the Bible was divinely inspired by God? If you do acknowledge the gospel accounts contain contradictions, do you still believe the Bible was divinely inspired by God?

if I answer only one question:
the resurrection of the body as it interprets various religions, never existed.
revive a totally damaged body and prove to multiple organ failure would transgression of natural law. (miracles? transgression of God's law)

It summarizes that to keep alive the idea of the divinity of Jesus was created this situation.

the most appropriate connotation would materialization of the spirit.

So Jesus never performed any miracles?

How can you trust anything in the Gospels if you don't believe He performed miracles? The writers are either bullshitting or speaking honestly... there's no in between.

The rational and scientific interpretation for the "miracles" that Jesus is due to its moral and intellectual evolution has profound knowledge of the natural laws governing the universe.
We can claim to know very well manipulate the energy of nature and the human magnetism.
a great example is the passage of the bleeding woman.

Currently the science already proves the efficiency of the magnetic pass on healing the physical body. (do not forget that we must have proper deserving to receive)
