What you are doing is starting with a religiously based assumption and trying to work backwards to support it. This type of indoctrination is nothing new. You simply ignore the evidence you don't like and call it a "belief" in order to try to make the religious myth look more valid.


The evidence we have best supports the idea of dinosaurs living 65+ million years ago. Without the myth book, probably no one would look at the evidence and come up with an estimate of during the current human period.

You should google what empirical means.

The childrens books that state this as fact? Really? Even Bill Nye the Science Guy states it as fact on his tv show, which is geared towards children.

coming back to the main question... I don´t appreciate the thought of dinosaurs on the arche, but if we think about what was told
to children in the past centuries (world is flat, kissing can make you pregnant, Santa Clause etc.), then i must admit, that we are at a nice level today. Everybody has the chance to think about things as soon as
he is able to. Informations about everything can be picked up very quickly and most of what you will find is pure bullshit. I think this can even be a nice lesson to find out what is the truth and what not.
There are so many questions that can be answered today, but still some we will never be answered.

The really serious question is, whether it makes sense that the society or government decides what is the "real truth".

Coming to god, the religions and the creation I found a nice saying: "If GOD was something/someone that a small mind as a human one can understand, it would be a pitiful thing"

When you say "this", are you referring to evolution? Teaching a child good morals based on logic coupled with the theory of evolution seems a lot more logical than reading the bible too them as fact, saying this is how the world was created and by the way this one guy can walk on water and if your slave survives the beatings it's okay.
