Tell that to the Greeks and Romans.
To be honest, the extent to which they were gay is exaggerated, but I suspect if I go into detail I may be banned. They unquestionably made love to a lot of people in the ass tho and their society was around for a pretty long time, in case you hadn't heard.
Yup and the hijras of India even prior to them.
It's why in India they have 3 genders because hijras don't consider themselves man or woman. A lot of it has to do with the fact that one of their gods is genderless. They believe "God" wasn't male or female but "something else or neither" and so it's been a part of their culture a long time.
They do more of the cross-dressing though and not the cringe sexual acts(not saying they don't but its much rarer there because the lgbtq+ movement is "sexualized" in most 1st world nations and it's about doing "bad things" whereas in India it's more about revering a genderless god by cross-dressing to match his "image".
They just aren't a part of the LGTBQ+ movement because their culture has considered them "weird/odd" but not "bad people" for 2,500 years.
I don't consider hijras to be a part of the lgbtq+ movement though I'm sure the more modern Indians "identify" as lgbtq+
