Honestly don’t know enough about it apart from seizure, allegedly temporary, of fire arms for people who are deemed suspicious until an investigation is completed
In principle I don’t disagree with it. But i can certainly see how it can be abused
It’s kind of like when you call CPS and they are obligated to knock on the door and have a conversation, even if they know it is a spiteful BS call.
I have had CPS knock on my door a month after my ex and her children moved out of my house, simply because she was a fucking nutcase and gets CPS called on her so often she thinks that is a rational way to attack somebody. Foot note, I did not have children of my own. The guy was extremely embarrassed.
Now replace an awkward visit from CPS with federal agents knowing full well you are armed and with suspicion you are insane or whatever the red flag report stated. Despite obvious times where it is a good thing, it essentially legalized anonymous swatting.
If the same insane woman who called CPS on me despite not having children knew I have a fuck ton of guns and live in the middle of nowhere decided to send feds to my door to take those guns from me for absolutely no reason besides there is a law mandating guns be seized due to anonymous reports, you can see how fucking dangerous that could get.
