Nigeria is much more stable and 10x larger compared to Niger. They have insurgencies from Islamists but generally speaking they don't face much risk compared to some of these other countries. They are a huge oil exporter and the largest economy in Africa. Instability in Niger is a net negative for them for a few reasons really, refugees, the oil/gas pipelines, a home for insurgency but at the end of the day you won't see something happen in Nigeria compared to the string of Sahel-region instability.

More I think about this situation, I don't really support the coup because I think it's a net negative for the country as foreign aid is/will be stopped and they will be excluded/disconnected in many ways, but I also don't support any sort of armed intervention. I just don't really see how a war would actually make things any better? If anything it guarantees a lot of civilian deaths and for what tangible benefit exactly?

There is no need for an armed intervention in that part of the world. Let the people become discontent with the ruling cast, support the opposition, reinstate democratic institutions again. Hopefully, this time around less corrupt than last time

https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/thousands-niger-junta-supporters-overwhelm-call-civilian-volunteers-2023-08-19/

The Nigerien Junta organized a volunteer sign-up for non-fighting military support roles. The citizen turnout was so overwhelming in Niamey that the stadium was shut down and they weren't prepared to handle such a large crowd- and those interviewed in the ground said they wanted to join in fighting roles, not just as support. As per Reuters reporters in the crowd. It could be a combination of patriotism with economic necessity, as the poorest nigeriens would be keen to fight if they could get paid basically anything, given the average yearly salary there is less than I spend on burritos.

I'd say its a pretty good sign the junta is more representative of the people that the western-propped """democracy""" where the populist opposition was arrested every election

Strikes allowed

Hassoumi Massaoudou, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mohamed Bazoum acting as interim Prime Minister, signed a document which "authorizes the French partner to carry out strikes within the palace presidential election in order to free the president of the Republic of Niger taken hostage”. A similar text was also initialed "in the name of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces", by Colonel-Major Midou Guirey, commander of the National Guard of Niger, according to the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland (CNSP). .

A close friend of President Bazoum confirms it: the request, mentioned by the putschists, did indeed exist. "When we understood, in the first hours, that it was really a coup d'etat, the interim Prime Minister Massaoudou asked, quite normally, the support of France, says this adviser who requested anonymity. France requested that there be a written authorization. »

It will not end until a civilized power takes control of government at all levels - local, provincial, and federal (Colonization), and institutes civilized culture through intermarriage (El Salvador and many South American nationalities are a great example of successful colonization)

De-colonization of Africa was the worst thing to ever happen to the continent

Very true, sir.

We don't like to admit it, but living under the White man's rule is better than our own. South Africa was a very successful and thriving country before all the white people got driven out. Now they have their way, the country is led by black people, and it is no longer a desirable place to live in.

What happened to South Africa is such a horrible tragedy that could have been avoided. I have a friend living there born in the area that is a PMC warrior fighting against the barbarians. I pray that the powers that be get their senses together and retake the region for the good of all peoples

It's sad nowadays how people are so afraid to admit the truth - that colonization is a good thing

I know of this person, he lived in South Africa for years, then immigrated to Canada with his family a few years ago. He told us about people being carjacked and other horror stories. Seemed like the country was plunged into poverty and chaos ever since white people left.

Some people would rather drink rocket coolant than admit that white men bring order into the world.

The situation is a lot more complicated than white man black man. We will never know what might have come out of Africa if it hadn't been a European toy for the last 3000 odd years.
