Whether the request was real or not, whether it was self-submitted or a troll or genuine, is completely immaterial, because the lawsuit isn't between that client and the web designer, its between the state of Colorado and that web designer. And Colorado anti-discrimination law still applied to the designer and any prior restraint placed upon her free speech, which served as standing whether or not any particular sanction had been brought upon her. Which is why the Supreme court's decision made no reference to a specific request, because its immaterial.
