That would seem to suggest that belief in God is culturally defined then, no?

Enlightenment is universal, belief in God takes many forms & is unified with Eastern philosophies which are non-theist, this is apparent from the striking similaries of Buddhism to Christianity.

But yes, the concept of the Abrahamic God is only present in areas where people have been educated as such. It is most of the world, while now only Eastern Asia retains non-theistic philosophies.

Did you even read my post? Of course there is purpose. The purpose we as humans give our lives.

Does this mean that any purpose is moral? Even if that purpose a certain human gives is heinous and vile? How do you decide?

Religion being culturally bound doesn't bode well for veracity, imo.

No that does not mean anyones purpose of life is inside of my own circle of moral understandings. When someones purpose in life is killing people then that doesnt align with my purpose in life or my moral views.

Also, we created a society in which we do not tolerate action that will harm us as a people. If someone kills, he goes to jail or dies. We regulate stuff as good as possible to keep the group unharmed. Basic behaviour. We all wanna survive and be healthy.
