Kinda weird when your boss begs you to stay and then indirectly asks for your resignation through a crony. I would make him fire me too, collect some unemployment, relax for a bit B)
Well clearly something changed to convince Trump that Bharara couldn't be given a pass when previously he was in the clear. Trump apparently only planned on keeping Bharara on a political favor to Chuck Schumer, some kind of conciliation, but given the events of the past month its not hard to imagine Schumers exhausted any capital he held with Trump and Trump could have simply given him zero freebies now since it gets him nothing. Maybe there was some unknown bargain, and Schumer didn't live up to his side, and thats not hard to believe.
Yates poisoned the normal routine for AGs staying on in a neutral role until their replacements get on when she grandstanded, so Trump had every reason to cast them all out ASAP before they could abuse their positions again. Would they have thrown fits from the bully pulpit? Well Bharara certainly justified Trump after-the-fact when he did exactly that with his
"you can't make me resign you need to fire me" publicity stunt.
