lol, I think that would fall under "prosperity and happiness"
lol I don't really see whats the big deal with what he said. Maybe they (Africans) were brought against their will, but they are immigrants none the less I guess.
but get upset because of what a black man said on the matter... lol
I can clearly see why when he said 'can-do society, not what can you do for me society' that u would get upset.
But like really... what?
U upset he trying to empower people of his own race, and not wanting them to rely on the victim card anymore? Maybe u should take a cue on that.
U sound like a SJW upset over some slightly non-PC comment. But heres the twist, hes not white...
They weren't treated like immigrants. They were considered someone's property being shipped from where they were manufactured to where they would be used as tools.
Slaves were not treated like people. They didn't have rights. Their dreams and hopes and achievements were destroyed. They were taught to internalize this belief. Any resistance to the idea got you hanged, shot, or mutilated for being so uppity.
Slaves were worth less than cattle. They were simply machines with voice activated commands. Slave owners wouldn't think of them how we do now, as people. They were no more immigrants than a Honda Accord or Samsung phone. That's how they were treated.
Carson's statements are disingenuous because it claims slaves had any sort of self-determination. The truth of the matter is there was no hope, no destiny, and no American Dream for slaves brought to the United States...only a life of suffering and brutality.
