open borders coupled with violence, misery and overpopulation in developing countries means that illegals often times have no other choice than to "voluntarily" get exploited by rich american farmers that use their hopelessness to pay lower wages.
its not as bad as slavery was back then, but pretending there was nothing wrong with the exploitation of illegals; or even pretending like exploiting them as low-wage workers was a very generous and humane thing to do, is ridiculous.

rich guys like the illegals because their presence in the country makes housemaids and babysitters and greenkeepers cheaper. rich farmers and businessmen like them because they put pressure on wages. this explains why more well-off and more educated folks want the illegals to stay here, while the less educated folks want them gone. it has nothing to do with them being smarter or more humane, it has simple economic reasons. yet the typical democrat voter still pretends like favouring the illegals makes them better persons.

OK hopefully this will simplify it.

Three alternatives:

1. Live in shithole home country: bad
2. Live as an illegal in the US: better
3. Live in the US with rights and fair wages: best

The pro-immigrants want 3 but most will compromise with 2.

The anti-immigrants insist on 1: deportation.

Simple logic as to which produces better quality of life for illegal immigrants.

doesnt change the fact that their lack of alternatives is exploited to put pressure on wages of american workers. doesnt change the fact that 3 would be the course of actions that leads to the best quality of life for american workers.
so, tell me, why should american politicians, who are representatives of the american people and their interests, put higher priority on the quality of life of illegal foreigners than on the quality of life of their own voters?

so illegal actions should lead to the bestowal of rights? i thought the states were a nation of laws



not to mention that millions of people in illicit employment hurt the state and the society, both are losing billions and billions of dollars that vanish into a few pockets
