The fact is that he isn't funny 90% of the time, he's too concerned trying to indoctrinate people to his cause or make a political point than he is with being genuinely funny like many other comedians.
His random cameo roles I've seen in movies outweigh his stand up.
I keep trying and I just can't get into the guy. I'll go to a friend's place and a group of us will be watching Carlin. Everyone cracks up laughing and I'm sitting there wondering if it's okay to laugh at an old guy convinced of multiple, contradicting conspiracy theories.
