To be honest, I'm increasingly of the impression that Netanyahu is himself stalling for time. He's well aware that he's a dead man walking, politically speaking, once this war ends.

Explain the logic, Israel given up for almost everything but the hostages.
How does align with your comment?

Right now the ball is in Hamas court.
Its either a deal or death

Glazing over Hamas starting a war and its war crimes.

Irony.

The one man that should understand what is happening and he doesn't.

What happened to all the Hamas hostages, in his opinion? I wonder.

He doesn't offer arrest warrants to Hamas because he is a coward afraid of a Fatwa on his head.

The back and forth about the Rafah offense has been going on for something like 2 months, Bibi keeps insisting that it's imminent, but never pulls the trigger.

I trust his will to keep his chair and therefore I’m sure that he’ll do it.. eventually.

But then again... as soon has he gives the go ahead, the war will come to an eventual end - and so will his premiership. I agree that he will eventually do it, I'm just saying that he's dragging it out to prolong his time in office.

Its the last real strong hold, its suppose to be a pressure point but how do you pressure a government who doesnt care about its own people?

His voters won’t accept anything less than Rafah.
I don’t believe the war will be over since Rafah is not the answer.
It needs to be followed by constructing a 30 m deep concrete wall along the 13-14 km of the Egyptian border. This is a national project that needs to be done while Hamas will likely do all he can to shoot everyone working on it.
Seems unlikely to be over soon.

Hamas just said no to the Egyptian offer.
Now if BiBi have balls he will end Gaza once and for all.

What's a fair estimate of the culpability of the Palestinian populace for the current situation in Gaza?

Non-combatants being killed in a war is normal but bad, I think we can all agree on that, especially when they are children. But Hamas didn't come to power by a coup.

It seems to me that a lot of mainstream media talking points talk about the situation as if Hamas is holding the people hostage because they have all the guns. But based on polling and the videos of Israeli hostages, taken back to Gaza, being spitted on and cursed by Palestinian civilians, I think maybe many Palestinians brought this situation on themselves.

I admit I'm ignorant about this issue, which is why I ask PaRD. I think I know the position of Many_Names already, but looking for other opinions as well.
