if your opinion is that these jobs are coming back long term and this is a good thing you're mistaken. I understand though, you know nothing about automation nor the timelines involved. If Chrysler hires 10,000 45 year olds today for these jobs i'd bet not even 5% will have their positions carry to retirement.
but hey, i guess making people feel good for a while in a bubble while they're unprepared for the future is nice.
i fully expect this move by trump, that being the speeding up of full automation in america by a threat of taxation at the border, to be seen as one of the major flubs of our turn of the century history given perspective. A strong president is needed to convince the nation to look to the future to fill positions that don't exist yet, instead we have a pandering man baby who couldn't negotiate anything except for membaberries.
but hey, i'll likely make millions more over my lifetime as a result, its just a bit sad when i see people getting hope that i'll be putting out of a job within 10 years that could have instead gotten into another industry and prepared their children to do the same.
