Good for you Mitt. I assumed every Republican would chicken out, but he's a God-fearing man.

Oh please, Romney was almost drooling when he said "we [the guilty votes] might be in the minority here in the Senate, but the American people will get to decide in November".
He has obviously been against Trump since the very beginning and is obviously rooting for him to fail.

You guys really shouldnt glorify Romney for this vote as if he was a paragon of integrity, principle and virtue. He hates Trump with every fiber of his body, and this was his big opportunity to stick it to him, plain and simple.

I don't see how this works. Someone with integrity, principle, and virtue would naturally oppose Trump early on in the campaign, for obvious reasons. So you characterize that opposition as hatred, and when yet again Romney faces the mob and follows his principles, you pretend otherwise.

It's circular logic. Nobody who has opposed Trump before can do so now in good faith.

Fiscal conservatism has always strived to empower individuals rather than the collective.

What gives more responsibility, saying "you know best on how to use your money" or "government knows best and will take more of your money" ?

You've shifted the goalposts there sonny.

Lowering taxes before cutting expenditures is not fiscal conservatism though, in the sense that we are equating it with low deficits/debts and responsible government spending.

So obviously true yet there's practically no voters on the right who agree.

Yeah, I lost all faith in the Republican party to be good faith actors when we caught them on tape saying they would oppose Obama no matter what he supports, and when those memos got leaked that basically said "government spending boosts the economy, we know it, anybody with a brain knows it, and so we're gonna hammer Obama for the deficit to prevent the economic benefits under a Democrat".
