I usually agree with you on a lot but I don't understand how you could believe Iran attacking the US AND Israel would somehow be more proportionate than Iran attacking just Israel.
At its most basic level the argument i am making is that if someone punches you, you do not then have the right to punch them AND their friend.
Actually in this case it would be proportionate for Iran to attack the U.S. and Israel given that the U.S. is also complicit in supporting the palestinian genocide.
Reasons:
1. The U.S. has been funding Israels military for decades. Israels genocide war with arabs/palestine is decades old. The U.S. & Israel are very good friends with psychopathic evil intentions.

The U.S. govt. works with and supports AIPAC - The American Israel Public Affairs Committee is a lobbying group that advocates pro-Israel policies to the legislative and executive branches of the United States.

"Iron Dome is a missile intercept system developed and deployed by Israel. It is used to shoot down rockets and missiles fired toward Israel. The U.S. was directly involved in helping develop Iron Dome, providing over $1.6 billion in funding for its development.
Representatives who voted against the most recent funding have been accused of voting to defund Iron Dome and not caring about Israeli security. This is not the case.
During 2021—even before the Sept. 23 vote—the U.S. had already given Israel $500 million for Iron Dome and other missile defense systems. In 2018, the U.S. and Israel signed a 10-year memorandum of understanding through which the U.S. committed to providing Israel with $3.3 billion in military funding
and $500 million in missile defense funding (including Iron Dome) annually. The recently approved $1 billion only adds to those funds. "

4. The U.S. govt. are hypocrites that ignore their own laws - Section 1091 of title 18
"Section 1091 of Title 18, United States Code, prohibits genocide whether committed in time of peace or time of war. Genocide is defined in § 1091 and includes violent attacks with the specific intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group."
