I'm very pious in real life.

Prayer and meditation should be used to converse with God, not to impress the people around you.

You presume that their prayers are meant for their surroundings.

Actually, I pray a lot when I'm in public. I hope it inspires people.

Praying around other people is a good thing. But, I don't think we should pay people for doing it.

We can't trust people to make good choices in an arena of free trade willingly, but we can trust people to make good choices in an arena of government monopoly of force?

why stop at small govt? abolish all laws and laisse society fait itself, only to witness the recurrence of what was just abandoned. People will team up to stand up against perceived big bads.

You're straw manning me. I am not making arguments for anarchy. I make arguments for a government that is limited in powers and scope. Two completely different things.

and i make arguments for a partially free market that is limited in powers and scope, so if you feel i'm strawmanning you, then you might realize that those were my feelings as well.

...and I am making arguments for a mostly free market. I can concede regulation in some fashion has its place. There is entirely too much of it as is.
