700bn for Greenland puts a tag of 300bn for Donbas & Crimea just right? Will Odessa / Nikolaev be included?

Thoughts?

We have not really talked about it, but last month NATO signaled that it was considering taking "pre-emptive" action against Russia. This appears to have been to derail the negotiations. It is one month on thankfully we are all still here on the planet. It looks like the West was playing chicken with Russia and the West blinked.

So basically now we know where the Israeli got their notions of collective punishment from - It was Nato. dear oh dear.

Jamie Shea was Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium until his retirement in late September 2018. He received worldwide attention during the 1999 Kosovo War, when he served as the spokesperson for NATO. He championed the notion of justified torture, collective punishment, legitimate rape and mass murder in the name of truth, justice and the NATO way. NATO was saddened and weakened when he left office.

I’m not arguing that.

I’m simply pointing out that deliberately causing a humanitarian crisis in your enemy’s capital is was nlt considered a war crime under Western military doctrine in 1999.

Nothing more.

27 years later, the Russosphere is still butthurt about NATO kicking their shit in during the Balkan Wars.

Regarding the actual point implied here: there might be an argument to be made that Russia attacking Ukraine's electricity grid serves a vague, indirect military purpose - but intentionally taking out the heating system in the middle of winter does not. Particularly when Russia only ever attacks the heating infrastructure while it's particularly cold. It's abundantly clear that Russia is trying to freeze and starve the Ukrainian civilians into submission because the conquest by military means is taking too damn long.

in a way its similar to what the US and Israel are doing in Iran - Russia is appearing to break the will of the people, similar to how the US and Israel are trying (along with bombing and economic warfare) to break the backs of normal Iranians. Surely you can see the strategy here? Do I need to use Gaza as an example? same principal applies - collective punishment to force a result.

This is not a pass for Russia, it is an acknowledgement of the collective punishment it is meting out. Thankfully not as bad as Gaza, which has been obliterated by the West.
