My wife is running to Marshal's to see if there's anything good. Hard to beat cloths for 1$.

She's also going to try to flip a few on *** Apparently there's Trump supporters who will buy them for 10-20 dollars on eBay even though they're a dollar in stores.

we had an issue with scientific research being suppressed here in canada during the harper years and i'm guessing that's what american scientists may be facing soon

Word. I don't know how much active and overt suppression occurs, but my perception here in the US is that we have an issue with funding and then another issue with the increase in "info-tainment" which has expanded into scientific realms, like all the T.V. doctors and what have you.

Getting funding is already pretty hard here in the U.S. If suppression has occurred in the past it's largely been the result of an imbalance in funding, or coercion by industry.

There's some cases of government suppression, the only one I'm really aware of occurring directly is on illegal drugs though.

Yeah, true. It's word too, since illegal drugs are being explored as treatment options, but yeah, certainly not on behalf of the government at large.

It took a very long time to get them to allow even the small amount of research being done. Nixon asked for weed to be studied to see if it is a public health hazard, it came back ad being absolutely harmless relative to the other legal things. Nixon ordered it destroyed because he wanted to use the war on drugs against minorities.

Pretry heinous. #republicanscience

Yeah, or if the government does allow research into illegal drugs, they do so in some pretty unethical ways like with LSD and MKULTRA.

I do think it's interesting though in recent times with ketamine therapies being used to treat depression.

Honestly if it can cure mental disorders like homosexuality and depression they should be throwing money at it.
