because the whole "nAtO iS tHrEatEniNg uS" was a bs narrative to begin with. russia has the largest nuclear arsenal in the world. putin KNOWS nato would never try to 'invade' it - not just because it's a defensive alliance, but because that would inevitably end in nuclear annihilation.
nato doesn't expand by actively seeking new members, it's not an economic union that benefits from larger markets, it grows when countries decide themselves they want to join and meet certain criteria. you know what would have prevented this war? ukraine being in the nato.
you constantly acting like putin's demands and motivations being rational and reasonable is how you got duped into completely misreading this whole situation in the first place. they aren't. they never were, not in 2014 (there are millions of latinos who speak spanish in the US - that does NOT give mexico a legitimate reason to annex texas for example), not today. stop being such a gullible fool.
