so you don't think Romney will try?

is the GOP legally bound to even hold a primary with an incumbent?

im honestly not sure, since tradition dictates they go unchallenged unless they are dicey. obviously trump can be seen as dicey, but could the GOP stop it? they hated the 2016 primary season, they took a lot of lumps.

yes, they do hold primaries even with an incumbent running, but they usually run unopposed and the turnout usually is extremely low.
if there is a notable opponent challenging a sitting president during the party's primary and getting a sizable share of the votes, that's usually a really bad sign for the president.

i wonder if Romney could even get enough traction to get the vote numbers up. my guess is trump would flatten him with ease. ty for the links

yeah, I'd assume the same. there might be a sizable share of the republican base who would prefer being goverend by a president romney over a president trump (maybe 20-25%?), but Romney has already lost his presidential race. They would never ever back a proven loser over someone who has proven he can win.

i think voters who prefer Romney to whoever is on the DNC ticket should vote for Trump. Romney's an electoral nightmare, has a history of getting flattened, and would be much more dicey in 2020 than Trump. i see it as a lose lose for Romney, he cant win even if people want him to lol

Not exactly. Cabinet/justice confirmations, treaties, and impeachment trials are all exclusive powers of the senate. The senate is also the only way to contest Trump's tariffs.

Tariffs are a left wing playbook why would the Democrats want to contest them?

Also, any chance to vote to just abolish government and we can all just take care of ourselves?
