I would like to agree with that, but most of the media was one sided. Donald Trump wasn't the only one destroying their integrity over twitter. Many high profile journalists forgot what their job was during this election. With such high bias with the media it was easy for many to look the other way. If the media would of sat back and did nothing I honestly believe Trump wouldn't be president. The media gave people something to rally against and put the media in the same category as the government. That many of the rural areas believe they were lied to and left to fend on their own. This was a election calling for change and this is the outcome of the media, government, and Hollywood saying they know best.
I've said this before in a previous post. I think a lot on non political, hard working people that may be conservative or just buy into the fox news stuff but perhaps not obnoxiously got tired of turning on the tv at night after work and having a buncha snobs attack them/their beliefs and lump everyone into one deplorable ball of goo. They already hated Clinton and they didn't necessarily love Trump but being the subject of the jokes and the target of many attacks got some to vote in that direction.
The left is right on many social issues but their snobbishness and often times hateful anti-hate needs to go if they want to get certain groups back.
