Justifies two of my positions.

1. Home owner's associations, gated communities, and even city ordinances are fucking bullshit.

2. Living in the country is where it's at.

Think a compost pile is bad? I've got one that I dump all of my chickens' shit into that smells so bad i gag when i turn it over each month...

theres a plague of speculative bullshit articles like this that downplay a serious physical assault.

The guy gets seriously injured and they are calling him a bad neighbor on unsubstantiated grounds instead of condemning the attack.

i got the distinct feeling from the article that the author realized whatever issue there was between neighbors was trivial, making the assault all that much worse.

hot take tho.

"But slowly, details are coming out that cast Paul as the villain in this neighborhood soap opera."

and the article is all about what paul might have done wrong regarding landscaping, which is bullshit, and selectively quoting neighbors to put him in a bad light.

The clinton news network had a much better take on it that cleared up some of the trash in Newsweek and the formerly reputable NYT
http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/09/politics/rand-paul-injury-mystery/index.html

or this is even better and came out on the same day

i can see how that one line could be bad, i simply took it as entirely sardonic because of the line that preceded it:

Quote
"regrettable dispute between two neighbors over a matter that most people would regard as trivial."

It's been the talk of Washington—and Paul's gated community—for days.

acknowledges its trivial to most if not all people. then tosses in the "talk of Paul's gated community" line, which is a clear joke. Then goes on to call him a "villain" which seems purely sardonic, and confirms that by acknowledging the situation is a soap opera.

i can see the point that by making light it "trivializes an assault" but to what effect? is the guy not gonna be prosecuted for attacking a prominent politician? no, of course not. On a semi-serious note, good thing Rand has govt backing, if he was to depend on a local magistrate to apply penalties he'd be at the whims of his gated community owner who seems to detest him.

Yep... I agree 100%. Grew up in the country, moved to the city for work after college- 3 years later was back in the country.

I feel there is a bit more going on here than we know. You don't tackle a prominent Senator and former presidential candidate because of a compost heap and a pumpkin patch.

The article is poorly written. "it seems that rand Paul is the villain."

"Or Senator Rand Paul's apparent disregard for basic neighborhood civility that led one of his neighbors to tackle him from behind and crack six of the Kentucky lawmaker's ribs?"

>mentally deficient understanding of libertarian defense and adjudication policies.
>ridiculous attempt to dismiss it all as satire after being proven wrong in your last feeble attempt knock what i say.
