- German leaders are not trying to rebuild the 3rd reich and to invade nearby countries.
- Putin said that USSR collapse was the "biggest mistake of 20th century" and since 2 decades he's doing invasions and hybrid wars get back the few countries which tried to leave the moscow sphere influence.

So saying "Russia = USSR" has some sense. At least more than the quote above...

3) Building them is one. Maintaining them is two. Paying 2K+ personnel salaries a piece is three. Then factor in the complete battle group needed to protect a single carrier, that's four.

(btw I'm not claiming the entire debt is because of carriers, I've used it as an example of exorbitant spending)
