legally you can do illegal things, like break a constitution w/ a certain patriot act. i dont see your point being valid just because they systematically merged civil union w/ marriage effectively editing the defintion and drastically altering the conceptuality beyond the original intention.

there are lots of loopholes in the system but thats not the point. The point is it is legal for 2 homosexuals to marry. So what gives?

Looking up the definition in a dictionary is a good start. And even that is not fool-proof. Some dictionaries have caved to the pressure, and have "updated" the meaning for marriage.
