am i pro people owning normal hunting rifles and shotguns with little more than a background check, being 18+, and preferably a hunter's safety course (decided by state). yes.

am i pro someone coming into a gun show and buying an ar-15 clone, 3 clips, and 200 rounds of ammunition? no.

same goes for cops, do i think they shouldn't get demonized constantly? yes. do i think they need million dollar checks for body armor they wont use in an active shooter situation because they already got their kids out and are now lying about the shooter being barricaded? no.
