hey genius, you're talking about people leaving a job and giving up massive piles of money and severance that have worked at Kellogg's for 10-15 years because of changes made by management in the last few years.

its not a situation where they say "hey i make 25$ now but im worth 28$, ill ask my boss for 28$ and if he says now ill go somewhere else"

its more like "i make 25$, and have a decade of severance and retirement benefits. management says if i dont work 120 days in a row and dont accept a raise to 25.10$ for this year and also work on christmas i will lose money when they dock my pay. and if i leave im going to lose many thousands of dollars to go get a job somewhere else. lose my severance package, and lose my retirement benifits".

its like u didnt even read my post because holy fuck do you sound like an idiot.

u have a fetish for proving you cant read well?

i said many of the WORST (read: not all) issues are in recent years, and that employees union and Kellogs barely made a deal on the last number of agreements with employee union making numerous concessions.

this is what the companies do, they make bad deals, make promises of concessions on the next deal, then the next deal is actually more bad things for employees covered up with minor raises or in this case with temporary employee promises that the company just failed to put in place and hid behind legal language to avoid a suit by the union.

in any case if you have people who have 10 or more years of severance packages and 2013 hits, and they think "it cant get worse" and year after year it does, it leads to 2020 and they strike.

also these plants employ most of the town, there arent even enough other jobs for employees to leave and go work elsewhere, they have to relocate.

but sure, people with severance packages in 2013 should have left and moved to another town to get a job base on the first sign they work for a bad company....... you really are fucking hopeless man.

im done responding, u just want to brag about how bad of loyalty you and ur grandpa have for companies. again, lmk ur job and ill fucking eat you and spit out the bones. ill design a machine that is specifically meant to give you carpultunnel and watch u crawl to the chow line just like the other plebs who think they cant be replaced.

I read perfectly what you said. You just too blind to read what I replied there have been at least +8 years of build up and signs. The possibility of this escalating were accelerated through covid I am sure. Employees had years of signals of making their choices of putting up with policy. When it finally hit them they were too stubborn to leave. Now they finally got fired.
Now you talking about people with severance packages prior 2013 having problems cashing them out. Further adding proof that the company was years of history operating in bad faith.

Cannot read, has trouble remembering what he said, lack of foresight in the what was conceivable probability years ago, bitch mode on through crying on social media platforms. My my your resume just keeps getting better and better. I hear Kellogs is hiring

Reply to your last point: My whole purpose is to be obsolete, and the job I create to be automated so that I don't have to work. Nice try 9-5 simp
Btw have you designed a machine to give you pleasure? Because you sound miserably frustrated

ur pretty confident for being the only one simple minded enough to be on your side in a thread with 50 people in it.

hows it feel to live on an island? usually people with over a 40 iq can reflect on their bad opinions if they're alone.

Fine have it your way. Those people were delt a bad hand, sucks to be in that position regardless if they were aware or not. I was not defending Kelloggs but pointing out there were signs and steps that could of been taken.
After the dust settles it will be the same story with "insert different company names".
I didn't say leaving a job or filing a lawsuit is going to be easy. But eventually after tears have dried up, one must stand up in court or look elsewhere, otherwise you are out of work and the Corp just replaces those positions with another ignorant bunch.

I just see extra steps taken

Also save your 40 IQ jokes for TiStuff or fender it's unsavoury

Kellog's blinks, workers win.

union makes no concessions, gets most of what they asked for to a degree, and prevents any plant from moving through 2026. pension increases, path to full time solidified, no 2 tier employment structure, and significant pay raise.

fuck ya, i can eat frosted flakes again.

Worker solidarity!

Feels like empowering unions is the only way leftist politics are going to get make any progress. The Dems & libs are going to do damn near everything in their power to stop anything being done via the legislative branch.

Didnt see that coming. Figured they'd hire enough scab workers and fire the regular workers.

Worked out well it seems.
