I couldn't argue against you any better than you just did. Good job.
So, all of your argument against America because it's "Capitalist" is just nonsense, because as it turns out, and as folk like me have been shouting for years, "America is not Capitalist" is true?
It's slim vindication, but I'll take it. Now, the question is, what makes you believe that an overreaching government controlling your life is better than you controlling your own life?
We're now into the little l libertarian AKA tucker argument, which allows for local governance and a very cut down "overreaching national authority" and your take of complete government ownership of all of life.
Because let's not mince words, Thor: You claim not to be communist, but some mythical method of socialist where "the workers own everything". Nope, the workers never own everything. Somebody has to be in charge, and they end up owning everything.
In fact, I could get into the idea of "As a worker, I have x% share of the company" and the fact that the shelf stocker at the grocery store doesn't know anything about anything, and if everyone else in the store disappears, the store fails, but the founder of the store actually started and stocked and sold and did it all, and are the reason the store exists. They put everything they had into it's success, and succeeded to the point where they could hire people to help make it even more successful. The "stake" the "worker" has in that store? Is called their paycheck. If they don't feel they earn enough? They can negotiate for more or quit. They are a function of the profit they bring in. Why should they have any say on the direction of that store?
It's all about undeserved control with you communist types. Why should you control anything you did not build?
