Except we are not looking at a problem that is scientific in nature. The issue we are dealing with is political in nature. It involves people. And when people are involved like that, then relying on "gut feelings" is sometimes called for.

The thing is though, at its core, COVID and vaccines are scientific in nature. I know you stated this is 90% political for you and 10% science, and I know you're not alone in your stance. But the problem is just that: a science problem is a political problem. And as you said, this is because it involves people.

Gut feeling counts for something, so I get that. But relying purely on "gut feeling" and ignoring objective data available by multiple reputable sources, in my opinion, is akin to burying your head in the sand. What does it take for something to overcome your gut feeling?

When your argument relies on a factual statement, then that factual statement is open to attack to discredit your argument.
