I believe you're wrong, Republicans would almost certainly go for a standalone "check bill". The problem is pointed out here:

Dems are worried about the other stuff. Republicans are digging their heels over excess.

There is no middle ground as long as you must rely on an omnibus to get it done. This is why the $600 payout had to wait for the appropriations bill to come along. 8 months to get $600. My guess is, it'll be until next January for the next IF it happens at all.

If Dems can't get 1400 theyre screwed 2022. And they deserve to be.

Oddly, due mostly to the fact that I'd like to agree with you, I have to say, I think you're wrong here.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not disagreeing just to disagree. I'm simply stating that as I indicated in my previous post, Republicans will dig in their heels over excess, and will actively say, "I did not support this because..." That's all Dems need to use to point the finger.

The average voter is not well informed. Left right or center, the average person in PaRD knows 50x more about what's going on than the average voter. To the average voter, a commercial that literally quotes the Republicans saying they didn't support Covid aid checks, and shows how the Dem was pushing for them is enough.

I'm not saying people are stupid, but nuance is meaningless to a person who's working 80 hours a week and has all of 12 minutes to decide who to vote for because that's all the time they get "off" to go vote.

I agree but I think that they are stupid. I really doubt a majority of our country CAN understand. It’s not cool to be smart anymore.
I remember back in high school (graduated 2010) our senior project was basically a job shadow and then you would write a 5 page essay about whatever it was you chose to shadow. Very simple. I remember by 2011 it had been dropped down to 3 pages, and around 2014 the writing portion was completely eliminated due to too many students complaining that the requirement was too “hard”. These are the adults who are voting today. Lulz @ WA state school system. The kids literally are dumb.

No offense, but that's a super easy senior project.

That's not me saying "You're stoopid!" Instead, that's me saying that educational requirements are based around politics, and politicians do not care about education, they care about being reelected.

Interesting post though, and thanks for sharing.

No offense taken. I thought it was easy as hell at 5 pages lmfao.

But that’s my point, they thought it was hard. They thought 3 pages was hard... these kids won’t know a good politician if one ever actually shows up. They will just see a TV ad and clap like seals.

You know there are school districts that have done away with any and all "test based" grades? Literally, the only "tests" they perform are state/federally mandated. Why? There's a higher student success rate if you don't test them.

Tests are um... Racist? I don't honestly know. Like, it takes effort to learn material, tests are designed to force you to show your knowledge of the subject in a measurable way.

Your senior project? Like, I can write a 50 page post. For fun. It's not a struggle. I can describe the work day of my father in most of the jobs he had during his life to the most minor detail. He's dead. Doesn't matter. My memory is fine. I can enhance the description with an analysis of the job's impact and importance economically, environmentally, etc. But... They weren't asking for such things, were they? There was no real thought to it. It's just a descriptive essay. Monkey see, monkey write. That's not education, it's just lazy.

it was supposed to be $2000 checks on “day one”, as that is what they campaigned on:

https://abcnews4.com/news/nation-world/biden-says-2-dem-wins-in-georgia-mean-2k-checks

https://www.newsweek.com/biden-calls-2k-stimulus-checks-post-georgia-runoffs-least-one-democrat-opposes-1560266

dont let them shortchange us our money on their own rhetoric!
