I expected you wouldn't really address the issue.

What issue specifically?

There is no such thing as unity under polarization. The illusory two-party system makes it so that both the right and the left are necessarily disinterested in unity, not because they don't value unity as a concept, but because it is untenable given the current circumstances.

At best the only thing available is collaboration in the form of compromise, which is very different than unity.
