Just a couple minor details.

Tests ramped up faster'n greased shit. Gonna force people to get tested? Hell, pediatrics can't even get children in for checkups. Apparently the "stay the fuck away from the hospitals unless you're dying!" warnings have been taken seriously. Who knew?

Issues with masks stem more from the fact that 3M, the #1 US manufacturer of said masks, produces the majority of those masks in China. And while those masks were made by a US company for the US, the Chinese government halted the transport of those masks to the US, and instead hoarded most, and sold some to European nations. Thank god for MyPillow, eh? Oh yeah, and sanitizing used masks. That's kind of neat, huh? Guess who called that?

Bottom line? Way more infected than expected. Way less lethal than advertised. Lethality rate overall? Between .05%-.5%. If you look at age 50 and under, lethality drops into numbers that're simply irrelevant.

There is no reason any state, OR the federal government, should EVER have attempted to "quarantine" the healthy the "save" the sick. This was a gross overreach at all levels. Those at risk, such as old people or people with prior conditions that would make them adverse should have been given the option, with adequate compensation, and the rest should keep on keeping on.

Instead, we're now in a scenario where people have been paid their standard state-based unemployment insurance (what, $400-500/week or so?) and another $600 on top. Can you imagine that? You were making $15/hour prior to covid, which would total $600 in a 40 hour week, but now you've spent a couple months making $1000-1100/week. Who DOESN'T want to make more to sit on their ass than work?! Well, plenty, but those don't have the option.

Entire response is bullshit, everyone has handled it badly, because it's just a fucking cold that, JUST LIKE THE FLU, is particularly deadly to the elderly. So fucking what. People die. Grow a pair and get on with life, and stop trying to violate everyone else's civil rights to get them hooked on the government teat.

Bullshit and nonsense. The overall deaths in the US since the onset of covid19 are slightly higher overall from January through the beginning of May than in prior years. But only slightly. In a few states where they did STUPID SHIT like FORCE COVID-positive elders to go back to nursing homes and INFECT everyone else there (cough *NEW FILTHY FUCKING STUPID YORK* cough) some of that is clearly and easily explained.

But no, I challenge you directly how quarantining the healthy helps them. Please, explain it to me. How does actively preventing school from being in session when kids are NOT dying from COVID help educate our children? Please, explain it to me. How does actively preventing the healthy population from producing the goods and services that create the value that our entire market economy is based and valued around, help either our economy, or lives? What happens when these businesses have to pay back "loans" on forced closures, when they operate on marginal profits and have no way to go back and reclaim months worth of lost income?

You're the one favoring a bullet to the back of the head. The back of the head of everyone under the age of 50 who's going to be around next year whether they want it or not, and is going to have to deal with the shortsighted over the top reactionary shutdown of the global economy, and all the consequences thereof.
