words can have more than one meaning. im just using the definition you posted. if you have a definition that says comparable means the opposite of comparable (instead of links to idiots saying it on the internet) plz post it.
"those aren't comparable" is just a phrase, not a definition. and phrases range from clever and factually correct to just stupid things stupid people say. kind of a monkey see monkey do thing, which is a more clever phrase.
people like you are the reason "awesome" went from meaning something akin to seeing Victoria Falls for the first time down to the throwaway phrase you toss at a gas station clerk because they have a pack with the 50 cent off coupon on it still.
now you're just being obtuse. i made it perfectly clear that i used the "similar / like" definition of the word, and disagreed both investigations were. you're using the 'suited for comparison / able to be compared' definition (illustrated by your creek / mississipi example, and claiming that by comparing both i'd prove they ARE indeed comparable), which is of course also a correct definition, but clearly not the one i meant.
seriously, you're so desperate to prove i used a wrong word, that you don't even notice how stupid you'd have to be to not only ignore the context, but also a detailed explanation (including a dictionary definition), in order to make that claim. seriously, you just went full...

the fact that you're now going into boomer mode, preparing the pivot to 'i don't like that language changes, that words can have a different meaning than the single one i personally know and accept' proves that you're at least beginning to realise you were wrong - even though you obviously can't admit it...
