I really think it is a political mistake by the Dems to keep on going along the "Mueller did not exonerate him, and Barr and Rosenstein gave him an unfounded pass"-angle.
They should let the story rest and focus on a 2020 platform to take him on and vote him out.

As offthevoid alread said: the damage has been done. The Mueller investigation has inflicted severe political damage on Trump and stymied his first two years in office, the years where he had a unified congress at his disposal and the filibuster in the senate was the only thing standing between him and the comprehensive implementation of his entire agenda. The Mueller investigation served its main purpose, even though it didnt provide the smoking gun they were hoping for in the end.

Ya gotta admit though. There probably wouldn't have been such a heavy push for the special investigation if Trump hadn't made comments via Twitter that would force a reasonable person to suspect that he was committing obstruction of justice.

All in all I'm glad this is over with. I never liked Hillary but I sure as hell didn't like Trump. Even more so as time goes on. Every time he opens his mouth he tells a lie. He publicly claimed that he gave the military a 10% pay raise. That, uh, definitely never happened lol. It also didn't help him that the crazies on Fox News acted like batshit crazy fans. All Trump had to do was act like a normal person. If he didn't do anything he literally had nothing to worry about. I'm a cop. If I bring in a suspect and they act the way Trump did on Twitter I am going to take a long hard look at him because he just screamed that he was guilty. Maybe its his personality. I don't know. I do know that the swamp definitely hasn't been drained and that swamp has only grown larger since his administration came into power. Also not a big fan of his administration wanting to use eminent domain to build his wall. Not a fan of any government agency forcing a private citizen to give up their property. I'm not even going to touch Border Patrol. They were the red headed stepchildren of law enforcement. They've been underfunded since Bush jr and continued to be underfunded through Obama. Trumps pumping money into them so they are going to be pretty heavy handed because that gets results. Unfortunately it's not good for American citizens. Anyway, that's money. Us local PD aren't any different. Feds give us money and we produce results because we don't want to lose that money. It's just a fact of life. You promise someone money and they'll do whatever they have to do secure it.
